Every GPS transmitter sends two signals: a live GPS track to the PocketLink, and a traditional UHF RF beep to your Field Marshall receiver. How far each reaches comes down to terrain — and your bird's altitude.

Open terrain high

With nothing between you and the bird, UHF travels essentially line-of-sight. This is where the quoted maximums are achieved — up to 200 miles of beeping RF and 100 miles of Turbo GPS data.

Open terrain low

As the bird drops toward the ground, both links shorten: the GPS data path weakens first as the horizon closes in, while the RF beep keeps giving you a bearing.

Forested / cover

Foliage and wet canopy absorb UHF energy, so expect ranges toward the lower end of the window. The traditional beep stays readable long after the data link drops — that's why both are on board.

Hilly / ridge

UHF is line-of-sight: a ridge between you and the bird can block the signal entirely. Move to high ground, or wait — the moment your bird climbs above the terrain, the beep returns first.

What is the Marshall Turbo GPS System?

It is a tracking and recovery system designed for falconry. It uses a small GPS transmitter on the bird, a Pocketlink receiver, and the AeroVision app on your smartphone or tablet to show you the bird's exact location, flight path, and live statistics like speed and altitude.

Le système nécessite-t-il un réseau mobile pour fonctionner ?

Non. Le système utilise un signal « Direct Connect » de radiofréquence (RF) entre l'émetteur et le récepteur de données PocketLink. Comme il ne dépend pas des antennes de téléphonie mobile, vous pouvez l'utiliser n'importe où dans le monde sans vous soucier des zones sans couverture. Non. Comme le système communique par connexion RF directe plutôt que par un réseau cellulaire, il n'y a aucune carte SIM à entretenir, et aucun frais mensuel de données cellulaires n'est requis pour utiliser les fonctions de suivi standard.

Combien de temps dure la batterie de l'émetteur ?

L'émetteur Turbo GPS est doté de batteries interchangeables et rechargeables. Avec les réglages par défaut, il dure 2-3 jours, mais vous pouvez configurer les modes dans l'application pour prolonger l'autonomie jusqu'à 7 jours.

La portée dépend du terrain, de l'altitude et des obstacles. En moyenne, la portée de suivi des données GPS est de 2 à 100 miles. Si l'oiseau est au sol ou hors de portée GPS, vous pouvez suivre de 5 à 200 miles son signal bip de télémétrie RF traditionnel (en utilisant un récepteur de suivi UHF optionnel).

Puis-je suivre plusieurs oiseaux en même temps ?

Oui. Un seul récepteur PocketLink peut suivre simultanément jusqu'à 5 émetteurs Turbo GPS, ce qui le rend parfait pour les utilisateurs qui font voler plusieurs oiseaux.

Comment monter l'émetteur sur mon oiseau ?
